9 Fun DIY Halloween Decorations For Your Front Porch

9 Fun DIY Halloween Decorations For Your Front Porch

It’s that time of year again! Pumpkin patches are popping up, scary movies are on the TV guide and fully-stocked aisles of bite-sized candy are taking over grocery stores across the country. That means it’s time to get your porch ready for the parade of adorable trick-or-treaters coming your way!

Whether you’re into zombies and creepy skeletons, or pretty painted pumpkins and jars of candy corn, there’s a little something for everyone. Here are a few simple DIY Halloween decorations to get you started.

1. Illuminated Ghost Garland

If you’re more into cutesy Halloween décor, this ghost garland is perfect to start with. The heads light up, so the cute little ghosts can be seen in daylight and at night.

2. Spider Egg Sac

If you’re less into cutesy Halloween décor, and more into scaring the pants off your neighbors, this DIY spider egg sac may be better for you. Even typing ‘spider egg sac’ gives me the willies. Let’s keep moving.

3. Chevron Pumpkins

Pumpkins are perhaps the most widely recognized symbol of Halloween. Many people choose to carve them, but paint is a fabulous option for anyone who doesn’t enjoy digging orange goop from a vegetable with their bare hands. Those people should try this cute painted chevron pumpkin instead.

4. Spooky Bats & Boo Buckets

How boo-tiful are these buckets? I love the painted letters, and the bats are the perfect Halloween touch.  Set them on your front porch or inside a window for trick-or-treaters to admire.

5. Chicken Wire Ghost

If you’ve got some free time on your hands, this chicken wire ghost is a surefire way to impress (and probably freak out) your neighbors. Grab some glow-in-the dark paint and you’ve yourself a pretty real-looking ghost.

6. Tin Can Luminaries

This is probably one of the most inexpensive Halloween DIYs, requiring only a tin can and tea light candle. You can copy the trick-or-treat design above, or try one of your own designs. Bats, spiders and jack-o-lanterns would all work, too!

7. Monster House

If you want to attract some serious attention from the street, this monster house is perfect. You can’t drive by this thing and not stop to look!

8. Creepy Crawly Halloween Wreath

There are so many DIY wreaths out there, but this one is the perfect mix of pretty and creepy for Halloween. It also uses a pool noodle, which is pretty unique.

9. Glowing Eyes

This final DIY is way too easy not to try. All you need is some empty toilet paper rolls, glow sticks and duct tape. Ta-dah! You’ve got glow-in-the-dark eyes for your bushes.
